Weldsale Platens are made of high tensile strength cast iron, machined to ±0.005" on the top, sides, and bottom, to provide a stable, heavy-duty accurate work surface that will not warp, sag, bend, or twist. Plus they have cast-in sockets on the bottom of every square hole to make bolt down of tooling and weldment fast and easy. Cross ribbing on the underside provide extra strength.

Weldsale platens

Weldsale welding platens are made from high strength cast iron (grey iron) and can be used for layout, bending, straightening, clamping and positioning. Because the Weldsale welding tables called platens(also known as acorn table) are made from cast iron (grey iron) they stay flat for a very long time and spatter does not stick to the tables. (Conversely steel table may tend to warp from the heat of the arc and spatter will stick to them making them wavy and unfit for making quality weldments.)

The platens are very strong and can support an enormous amount of weight. We use a special grade of grey iron that is very durable and has an extremely long life. The welders love the Weldsale platen tables.

Weldsale new style flush mount platen stands allow fast and efficient construction of multiple platen bed. You can add a Weldsale platen to an existing Weldsale platen and the work surfaces will have no gaps between the edges where the platens meet. Flush mount Weldsale platens and stands fit shoulder to shoulder, machined boss to machined boss, providing you with an enlarged work surface, with no gaps between the edges where the platens meet. Weldsale platens can also be moved to allow walkways between the platens. Add a Weldsale platen whenever and wherever required.
